‘8 Runs’ Urias, ERA 5.02 → ‘Free Agent Dream Shattered’
Julio Urias, 27, of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who was expected to sign a mega-deal in free agency after this season, has seen his dreams of a big payday come crashing down again.바카라사이트
Urias pitched against the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 20 (ET).
Urias threw 93 pitches (66 for strikes) in five innings, giving up eight runs on eight hits. He struck out just two batters.
Urias gave up two runs in the first inning on four hits, and two more in the third inning on a bases-loaded walk.
Urias also gave up a home run to Gunner Henderson in the bottom of the fifth, after already giving up seven runs. Five innings of work, eight runs, and a disastrous outing.
The Dodgers’ offense was unable to capitalize on Urias’ mistakes after the fifth inning as they failed to capitalize on the Baltimore bullpen. The Dodgers lost 5-8. Urias suffered his sixth loss.
Urias had pitched 75 1/3 innings in 14 games on the season to this point, going 7-6 with a 5.02 ERA. He has 72 strikeouts.
Urias’ eight earned runs on the day were the most in a single game. Urias has lowered his ERA to 4.34 in his last two starts with 12 innings of two-run ball, but it’s risen significantly again.
He’ll never get a good contract in free agency at this point. The Los Angeles Dodgers will also have to think about making a qualifying offer.
