‘Another injury red flag’ as Go Woo-seok returns to first-team action, Ham Deuk-joo ruled out with elbow injury
LG pitcher Ham Deok-ju has been voluntarily suspended due to an elbow injury.
The game between NC and LG took place at Jamsil Stadium on the 4th. Ham Deok-ju was the third pitcher after Yoo Young-chan in the top of the third inning, trailing 0-2.
Against the first batter, Martin, he hit a single to left, allowing a runner to score from third base. With runners on first and second, he got Kwon Hee-dong to ground out to the third baseman to end the threat of further damage.메이저사이트
In the fourth inning, he struck out the first batter, Park Seok-min, and gave up a single to right to Park Se-hyuk. He struck out Kim Joo-won again, but something didn’t feel right.
Shortstop Oh Ji-hwan and catcher Heo Do-hwan went to the mound, and Ham signed to the bench. The trainer and pitching coach Kim Kyung-tae went to the mound to talk, and the decision was made to make a substitution. He pitched 1⅓ innings of two-hit ball with two strikeouts and no runs. Park Myung-geun came on as the fourth pitcher.
After the substitution, LG’s PR team announced, “Ham Deok-ju was replaced for player protection due to discomfort in the elbow area. He is currently undergoing icing treatment.”
Ham underwent surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow after the 2021 season. This season, he has regained his best form, with his fastball reaching the mid-140s.
In 26 games this season, he went 2-0 with three saves and eight holds with a 1.40 ERA. Injuries slowed him down, however.
