Hwang Hee-chan gives exclusive interview to English Goal.com… ranks his ‘old teammate’ as the best in the world
Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Hwang Hee-chan (27) has named his former teammate Elling Holland (23, Manchester City) as the best player in the world.
The UK edition of Goal.com recently conducted an exclusive interview with Hwang. Hwang came back from injury this season and had an Altrincham-like performance at the end of the season. At the World Cup in Qatar during the season, he scored a dramatic goal to help South Korea reach the round of 16. The UK edition sat down with the Wolverhampton fan favorite to ask him some fan questions.
When asked who he thinks is the best player in the world, Hwang picked a former teammate. Man City’s monster, Holland. He broke into the Premier League this season and exploded for 36 league goals, breaking the record for most goals in a single season in the Premier League. Hwang and Holland spent half of the 2019/20 season together at Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian Bundesliga, helping them win the league title. Along with Japan’s Takumi Minamino, the attacking trio was a force to be reckoned with.
Hwang said of Holland: “He’s a fantastic player. She has good energy. She can score goals and press. He can do everything, he’s the best player in the world,” he said, giving him a thumbs-up. “He’s a fun guy, he gives positive energy to his teammates. He’s just a fantastic guy,” he added in off-field praise.스포츠토토
At the World Cup in the winter, he was struggling with the after-effects of his injury, but he scored a dramatic come-from-behind goal in stoppage time against Portugal in the third round of the group stage to send his country through to the round of 16. The story of this miraculous moment is not lost on him. “We tied with Uruguay and lost to Ghana. We had to beat Portugal, and that’s what happened,” he recalled, adding that it was a “very special game and a special day, not only for me but for the Korean people,” and that he shared the joy with the fans.
When asked which was his favorite stadium to play in during his time in the Premier League, he said, “Molineux Stadium, our home stadium,” before adding, “Arsenal’s stadium is good, Liverpool and Manchester City’s stadium is good.” And when asked who is Wolverhampton’s fastest player, he said, “That’s too easy a question. Adama Traore,” he said.
