Kim Min-jun won the tournament MVP and led the Gangseo Thunders to victory. 

On the 2nd, the ‘2nd Rookie Cup Youth Basketball Tournament with 2NT Bugs’ was held at Geolpo Multipurpose Gymnasium in Gimpo-si, Gyeonggi-do.

With each team competing for the championship from early morning, the team that reached the top of the middle school division was the Gangseo Thunders. Gangseo Thunders defeated Team ONE in the final and won the honor of becoming the champion among 12 teams participating in the middle school division. 

The Gangseo Thunders took an early lead in the finals and came close to winning the championship early. The Gangseo Thunders, led by coach Lim Young-hun, a former professional player, was a team with many players with good skills. Among them, the player who was selected as the MVP of the tournament was Kim Min-joon with uniform number 23.

Kim Min-joon, who did not lose his smile throughout the interview, emphasized the fact that he was more than happy to win the victory alone. He said he was able to win the championship because everyone on his team worked hard.

Kim Min-joon said, “I’m happy to win the championship after three years. It’s not a single player who scored a lot, but everyone did well together, so it’s a big win for me. I am happy to be able to do it,” he said.

He went on to express his joy, saying, “I think this moment when I won the championship while playing basketball is the most thrilling moment. I was especially happy when I scored a wedge in the final.”

Kim Min-jun said, “Even if I missed a shot, my friends grabbed all the rebounds, so I was able to do it without any pressure. And the coach said, ‘You’re good enough, so be confident.’ The result came out,” he said and turned the ball.

Minjun Kim is not satisfied with this win and wants to win more championships.

Kim Min-joon said, “It was fun to work with my friends. I want to say that I am really grateful so far. Based on this victory, I hope to win more championships this year.”
