The 2024 Paris Olympics handball Asian regional qualifiers will be held in Doha, Qatar, from October 18 this year.

In order to advance to the Olympic finals, the Asian qualifying competition must win, and the runner-up team earns the right to advance to the final Olympic qualifying round, which competes with countries from other continents.

Korean men’s handball, which won a silver medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, has failed to make it to the Olympic finals after the 2012 London competition.

Qatar represented Asia in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Games, and Bahrain and Japan, the host country, each represented Asia in the 2021 Tokyo Games.

The Korean men’s handball team, led by coach Hollando Freitas (Portugal), is taking the Asian Games in Hangzhou in September and the regional qualifiers for the Olympics in October this year as its biggest challenge.
