Napoli accept ‘Kiminjae Man Utd’ reality, look for replacement… Attempt to sign Dutch championship winning center back
Napoli (Italy) seem to have come to terms with the future of Kim Min-jae (27). Napoli have identified a defender to replace Kim Min-jae.
On July 14 (KST), British media outlet Mirror quoted Italian newspaper Il Martino as saying, “Napoli are planning to complete Kim Min-jae’s move to Manchester United on July 1 and have already accepted it.”
Napoli had been trying to get Kim to stay, proposing to remove his buyout, but it didn’t work. Eventually, Napoli gave up and decided on a replacement for Kim. It’s center back David Hantzk (26-Slovakia) of Feyenoord in the Netherlands.메이저사이트
He joined Feyenoord ahead of the 2022-23 season. After a season of solid defense, he helped Feyenoord win the Dutch Eredivisie title this season. As such, Napoli are ready to receive him as a defender to replace Kim Min-jae.

In mid-May, Man United were considered the frontrunners in the race to sign Kim. They were consistently mentioned as the favorite to land the player, and there were even specific timelines and prices. The Red Devils are targeting Kim because of injuries to starting center backs Rafael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, as well as declining form from backups Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof. It also helped that Kim preferred to play in the English Premier League (EPL).
However, things have been changing since June. First, there are reports that United are looking to sign an attacker before a defender. In addition, there are reports that Maguire is refusing to leave the club, leaving Kim Min-jae’s spot open. There has been no active move by United at the moment. They still haven’t given up on signing Kim, but it doesn’t feel like a ‘one and done’ situation.
In the meantime, other teams are trying to “hijack” him. In the EPL, Kim’s preferred league, Newcastle have been active. Backed by Middle Eastern capital, Newcastle is no slouch when it comes to money. Chelsea are also reportedly eyeing Kim as a possible replacement for Kalidou Koulibaly.
It’s not just the EPL that is being targeted. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in France is another possible destination. PSG is no stranger to the ‘money game’ either. These foreign teams are entitled to negotiate for Kim Min-jae without Napoli’s permission for three months from July 1, as long as they pay a buyout.
